3 Day Jewel of the Nile Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest protected area covering a total of 3,840 square kilometers. The park is named after the thundering Murchison falls, where the world’s longest river is squeezed through a 6-meter gap, spraying and splattering into the gorge below, in a permanent spray that is as breathtaking, as it is mighty.
Murchison Falls Park has a variety of sectors each with a little something different to view. The Budongo and Kanyino Pabidi forests are host to chimpanzees which have been habituated for visitors. The activity is adrenalin-packed and one not to miss when you visit Uganda. The Royal Mile is exceptional for bird watching some of the 550 bird species located in the park.
The northern sector especially the Nile Delta is amazing for its unique Borassus palm trees with huge game that can be viewed along the well-maintained tracks. The boat ride from Paraa to the bottom of the falls is an amazing cruise where you can view more of the animals from the safety of the boat. Murchison Falls National Park is truly the Jewel of the Nile.
